Hail Caesar - Early Imperial Romans: Onager

€29.99
SKU WGH-IR-29
Woe betide enemies of Rome who thought themselves safe behind their stockade, earthern rampart or high stone wall. All the fortifications in the world would count for naught when the Roman legions brought up their migty war engines. Chief amongst them was the Onager, a machine of destruction that could vary in size, but hurl large shaped stones with the kick of a mule!

Indeed, the very name Onager comes from the wild ass which would defend itself by lashing out with its hooves scattering stones at attackers unwise enough to close.

Even if the stones could not batter down a wall, the wily Roman engineers could instead shoot flaming balls of naptha sailling over battlements to set afire towns and even ships.

Rarely used in open battle, the Onager could however be devestating as a hit from its lobbed smooth ammunition would crash through a formation of cavalry or infantry unlucky enough to be in the way.

"Put your back into it Julius, one more hit and were in"!

Add this great looking model to your Battleline and watch your foes melt away or remember an engagement somewhere else on the table top....
